Having a personal relationship with God

Being born into a situation you didn't ask to be in makes it harder to embrace it. The moment you begin to embrace rather than fight where God has placed you, the family he has put you in and the people He has surrounded you with. Is the moment you come to a greater appreciation and acceptance of who you are. No matter the circumstances of that situation. Being a PK (AKA Pastors Kid) has it's highs and lows but I've reached a point where I am a Christian because I want to be a Christian. I am a Christian because I have experienced God's goodness upon my life on a personal level. Not because I'm being forced or because that is what is done in my parents house. Yes their ministry played a part in helping to understand who God is and why I need Him in my life. However, that personal decision factor is highly important because what's going to get you to heaven is your prayer life, your commitment and your love for God. Not your parents or whoever forces you to go to church😂⛪. Yes our parents prayers and commitment help in keeping us safe, and God takes care of us for their sake but we should reach a point where we love God and nothing can change that regardless of the circumstances😊

My personal testimony

I was born in a Christian home. My father and mother are the founders of Out for Christ Ministries International incorporating Living Word Churches which have churches in the Southern Africa region. Growing up as a church leader’s daughter was not always easy. It seemed as if there was always this pressure to be “perfect” as you are born with a platform where all eyes are already on you and it is up to you to decide whether or not you are going to use that platform wisely by being an inspiration or a disappointment.

Growing up I loved sport and actually excelled in it. Qualifying for national teams for sports such as swimming, lifesaving and basketball. Swimming was my main sport. I Started swimming when I was 3 years old, competitively when I was 8.
In 2014 I began having a lot of medical issues which eventually started affecting  my swimming as I would run out of breath quickly or even faint during training sessions. After blood tests and appointments with my doctor I found out that I was anemic. Going forward with swimming would not have been practical as I had  to take a lot of medication just to be okay enough to train but not compete. After discussing with my parents we decided that it was time to let go of swimming. This was a very hard thing for me to do as I had big dreams considering that I was very good at it. I felt like the one thing I knew how to do well was gone. I became a very angry person. I was reading my bible less and as someone who was no longer as occupied I had my fair share of teenage mischief😂. This went on for some time until I realised that it was not getting me anywhere.
Though I was born in a Christian home I had never actually made a personal decision to follow Christ or rather when I did I was too young to understand the significance. I had been baptized at a very young age but again I did not fully comprehend the significance.
In 2016 I rededicated my life to Jesus Christ in my bedroom, my mom led me through the sinners prayer. In 2017 I was baptized at the our national end of year conference. Since then my life has had more meaning and purpose.I am at peace with myself and the world around me and fully believe that God has a great future planned for me. I am actively involved in the programs of our church and every day I strive to be a better Christian. God has raised me to heights I never expected that He would. I explored my sporting talents and began excelling in basketball. At school I was honored with many leadership positions and now that I am done with high school I am excited to see what the Lord has in store for me.

Let's make things right with God ❤

God bless❣
