One for the ladies

The other day I had a very interesting Bible study with my friends.

PROVERBS 7

In Proverbs we see many warnings being made to men about the adulteress woman. The type of woman she is and the things she is associated with. How to identify her and how she behaves.
Why do we think that men are being warned against the adulteress woman and not women being warned against the man who commits adultery?
This shows kuti dzimwe nguva kutori ne problem kuside re vakadziπŸ˜‚ (this shows that sometimes there is actually a problem on the woman's side) but we stay saying #menaretrash.

This also shows that there is something that is within men, a sexual desire that is stronger than that of women. This is a fact that we have to accept. That men are more visual than women. That is how they were made. In as much as they should control themselves we shouldn't tempt them.

Proverbs 7:10 describes the adulteress woman in a very interesting way... "dressed like a prostitute".
Why did King Solomon make this association between the woman and her dressing? This actually shows that there is a way of dressing that can be associated with prostitution.

This is a conversation that many women are not ready to have yet. There are things, such as dressing that can be associated with some dishonorable titles such as "prostitute". Something I hear most women saying is " women should be able to wear what they want, men are the ones who are supposed to teach themselves how to behave and how to control themselves".

Both parties should respect themselves and each other and not allow themselves to get into compromising situations. Many times as women we open ourselves up to danger over simple things such as dressing. Ask yourself why is it that you want to dress that way? What is the intention behind it? Other than you "just liking it".

The word of God encourages us to dress modestly because God knows that it is actually a form of protection for us as woman.

1 Timothy 2:9-10
"And I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes. 10 For women who claim to be devoted to God should make themselves attractive by the good things they do."

I always think that if King David, a man who was after God's own heart, was messed up after seeing a naked woman to the point that he slept with her and got her husband killed. Then what more do you expect from these boys of the streetsπŸ˜‚? What do you expect from them? I once saw this post on social media where women marched NAKED protesting against rape. How can you march against rape while doing something that entices it?

Sometimes I really do think that as women we really do disrespect ourselves while waiting for the rest of the world to respect us. It's sad how this generation of women uses "loving and embracing themselves" by showing themselves naked on social media.

Extreme feminists have completely annihilated the core purpose of feminism. Feminism was for womens rights and equality. Now it's more about completely disagreeing with everything the Bible says about the Proverbs 31 woman while hiding behind the title of being a "feminist".

Let us not be like the Proverbs 7 woman but rather let us be like the Proverbs 31 woman. The Virtuous woman.

If you dress a certain type of way to get a mans attention on purpose. Remember that in the book of Ruth, Ruth wasn't noticed by Boaz by dressing all fancy and parading herself around him. He noticed her while she was working in the fields. Get attention for the good things that you do. Be noticed for the good and hard working things that you do. Not only because of how you look. You can still be beautiful, trendy and fashionable while still dressing appropriately. The man who is truly meant for you who God will give you won't be so into the way that you dress but rather who you are as a person.

I am not disregarding the many unfortunate situations where women have been mistreated even where they exercised extreme caution. Those situations are for the Lord to deal with. Men can be very harsh and wicked. God will deal with the wicked man. There is no justifiable reason for rape or any form of sexual abuse. However, as women let us do our best to protect ourselves and keep our crowns high. To protect each other and be honest with each other even about the way that we present ourselves on social media. Let us not hype up just anything and everythingπŸ˜‚.

There is a certain way of dressing that is appropriate in one place that might not be as appropriate in another place. That could be appropriate around a certain group of people but not so much when you are around another group of people. That can be appropriate at a certain time but not so much at another time. That can be appropriate at a particular event but not so much at another event. We should pray for a spirit of discernment and allow ourselves to be led by the spirit even about things such as dressing because that is part of your brand as a person because it is one of the very first things that people will see. Modesty is progressive.

I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post😊. 'Til next time❤
