Don't mess with God

When 2019 began, just like any other year, I had many resolutions for the year. Part of these resolutions included completing the Bible within 1 year (the Bible challenge). To be able to do this I have to read ATLEAST 5 chapters of the bible every single day. So before going any further with this message I encourage all of us to take on this challenge 😊 it's never too late to start and do your best to stay on track with the challenge.

I hope all of you are good and that I find you well❤
Now to get into my message, because of this Bible challenge I have been spending a lot of time in the Old Testament. Guys😂 thank God for Jesus because he created a greater way to God and a second chance at life. The Old Testament is so deep. Try not to read the Bible as if it is a story book, instead get into it a bit deeper and meditate on His word day and night🙏🏾. The Old Testament and the bible in general is extremely factual. In the Old Testament you get a glimpse of who God really is. A strong and firm God, as well as a compassionate and loving God. Also, a God who can get aannngggrrryyy😂👐🏽sho. Boys and girls wake up and smell the coffee☕

I know most people enjoy reading the New Testament because it is filled with good news💌💃🏾💫. However, I feel that is important to have a balance so that we become whole Christians. In the old Testament I came across many events where God's patience was tested.  Don't play with God y'all.

Okay so what could make God angry? God is our Father right. So think of it this way. What would make your biological father angry? If you do the opposite of what he says right. When you're a disobedient child basically. Now in the Bible God is very clear about what He likes and what He doesn't like though sometimes people want to sort of "change" the Bible and make it into something it's not. To try and turn what it says into something that's comfortable enough for them. Well sorry to break it to you but we can't change the truth, which is the word of God which is clearly explained in the Bible. So when we try and oppose this truth when we clearly know the truth, that is when we anger God.
"For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,"
- Hebrews 10.36

So for this post specifically I'll be referring to Numbers 16. Here we see 3 men, Korah, Dathan and Abiram. In verses 1-3 we are told that these 3 men became insolent and rose up against Moses. With 250 Israelite men, well known community leaders who had been appointed members of council. In verse 3 we read that they opposed Moses and Aaron saying to them "You have gone too far! The whole community is holy, every one of them, and the Lord is with them. Why then do you set yourselves above the Lord's assembly?"....👀

The audacity😂🙄👐🏽 just kidding but seriously guys😂 Moses split, SPLIT the red sea and they walked through it and made it to the other side in one piece. When they were out here getting all thirsty complaining in the dessert claiming that it would've been better to have stayed in Egypt, Moses hit a rock and water flowed out of it in abundance (which is actually a story for another day because I recently heard the craziest, most powerful version of this story). Moses performed many miracles that they had never heard of or seen before and they still had the audacity to question his God granted authority😂👐🏽the guts... anyways moving forward💁🏽‍♀️
So they went through this whole process (read Numbers 16) just so that they could see who truly was chosen of God. In verses 28-32 that's when all the juicy stuff happens😂 Moses said "this is how you will know that the Lord has sent me to do all these things and that it was not my idea. If these men die a natural death and suffer the fate of mankind, then the Lord has not sent me. But if the Lord brings about something totally new, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them, with everything that belongs to them, and they go down alive into the realm of the dead,  then you will know that these men have treated the Lord with contempt."

What do you think happened...
The earth opened up its mouth and swallowed them and their households duuhhrrr😂they were trying to be funny😂.
What would you do if the ground beneath you opened up and you entered the realm of the dead😂👐🏽Nothing because you can't do anything. Do not play with God. Even in the New Testament when the devil tested Jesus 3 times one of Jesus's responses to the tests was "It is said, Do not put the Lord your God to test." (Luke 4)

Many times the children of Israel angered God and He sent plagues and fire from heaven. In most cases Moses had to pray on their behalf for God to have mercy on them. Let us not anger God to these lengths. I'm not saying that the ground beneath you will open up and swallow you lol because we have been delievered from death through Jesus Christ. Which is why I say we should be sooo thankful for Jesus because we have been given a second chance at life.

However, you can still anger God, and other sufferings can be placed upon your life through ignorance such as the one displayed in Numbers chapter 16. As God's children let us read His word and put great effort into understanding Him and His word as well as obeying his commands. God has so many great plans instore for us and He wishes the best for us. Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,"  declares the Lord, "plans to PROSPER and not harm you, plans to give you HOPE and a FUTURE"❤✊🏽

So remember everyone God is our Father and He loves us so much, that He gave us Jesus. His one and only son (John 3:16). We will all make mistakes here and there and fall out of line but after every mistake what's important is what you do after🙏🏾 God loves you so much guys and He is ALWAYS listening💕 never forget that. Always willing to help you when you fall💫 always there to pick you up to make things right. There is nothing more important than your relationship with God🕊 never forget that❤

Stay blessed everyone💫

Profound! Reminds me of the quote from your dad, "Love the lamb but fear the Lion"- S.T Manyika, as much as we have the grace of God to forgive us when we sin, he is also the Lion of Judah and should not be messed with, thus we should take advantage of the Forgiveness and not repent, coz one day you'll never know! Fantastic Work Keep changing the world, one blog at a time :)
