Enameled with grace
Hey guys❤ I hope you're all good and that life is treating you well. For some time I've been meaning to share the inspiration behind the name of my blog "Enameled with grace". It's taken some time for me to do that because I wanted to make sure that I did it justice.
The name of my blog is not original. In fact I got it from this quote which talks about the brilliance of a black woman.
"Dipped in chocolate,
Bronzed in elegance,
Enameled with grace and
Toasted with beauty.
My Lord, she is a Black Woman".
I'd say that this quote played a huge role in accepting who I am and realizing my value in this undermining world.
The Enameled with grace part stood out to me the most because well "enameled" means to coat or decorate, and "grace" is God blessing us inspite of our unworthiness. It is unmerited favour. Favour is different from grace because favour is the tangible evidence that a person has the approval of God. So just to break it down. Enameled with grace means that we are coated, decorated and covered by the blessings of God which we do not even deserve.
Looking at my life. Everything that I have, everything that I have managed to accomplish and everything that I have gotten away with I really didn't deserve. Most times I still ask God "Why?". I get so emotional because I've always felt that there is someone out there who is more deserving than I am, even for the small things that I have or that I have done. If you really think about it you cannot measure the effort that God puts into you against the effort that you put into Him. You can't compare. You wouldn't have done anything special to attain those things but God still gave them to you. God still let you get away with it when you were probably supposed to lose a leg when it all happened. God still got you out of there even when you were supposed to crash and burn when it happened. God still loves you even though you abondoned Him when it all happened. How do we know this? You are still here, that's how. He could've been done with you a long time ago because God can use anyone. How many people are on this earth? The fact that you are still here is because He isn't done with you and He wants it to be YOU that He uses for whatever purpose that He wants to fulfill. Don't take that for granted. I don't take that for granted.
The best way to describe this blog and what it means to me is that it is an appreciation to God. It is part of the few things that I can do to show Him that I acknowledge what He has done in my life, what He is doing and what He is going to do. I do that by sharing it all with you guys. Sharing testimonies, sharing times of triumph and most importantly sharing His word. How it ministers and interprets itself to me. It's just a small appreciation and I'm so grateful to you guys for being a part of that because you're the ones that read, that give me great ideas and that also inspire my writing. Thank you❤
2 Timothy 1:9
Who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began.
Thank you for taking your time out to read this💫 'til next time. Walk in Love💫
